Meve.me Logo

This was a fun project. I love logo work anyway, but in this case it was for a product that a partner of ours was launching. I liked working with these guys and really felt like I could do something that would impress them and mirror the excitement they had about the product. meve.me converts huge event websites to mobile-friendly versions.

The client wanted something that was modern-looking with the web app style that’s pretty ubiquitous around the interwebs. The initial logo gestures that I presented looked like this:

The client was extremely pleased, saying something along the lines of “can I use them all?” That’s gratifying. They did narrow the choices down to two to further develop:

The first was merely moving the ribbon “m” around relative to the text and trying it on some backgrounds. There were more variations of these, but these were the strongest. The second direction is a variation of one of the original logos. It’s kind of a grasshopper/swiss army knife shape. The client asked to see a lot of color variations, so … he got a lot of color variations.

The client was able to point out the one he liked, and the final version ended up looking like this:

I’ve started to see the font quicksand appear in several places, including the Cynapse site. I have been using it quite a bit, and felt like it was my little secret, but the secret appears to be out. It’s freeware, so go figure.
